Good bagels aren’t difficult to find in NYC, but the provider of arguably the best, H&H Bagels, have recently closed the doors at their last remaining location on West 46th street. The final closure is the result of legal wrangles after owner Helmer Toro had struggled to prevent bankruptcy proceedings on the company.
H&H Bagels were founded in 1972 and are renowned around the world. They have been referenced on shows as big as Seinfeld.
Toro reckons that the fight is not over, but for now, the H&H doors are padlocked closed.
