One of the most luxurious and effortless trends from the Spring/ Summer 2012 shows is the pyjamas. Stella McCartney featured some of the most stylish (yet also genuinely pyjama-ish) examples of the look. But how easy is it to wear without looking like you’ve borrowed Hugh Hefner (or, God forbid, your grandad’s) finest silks?
If you don’t want to go for the full-on bedtime story, try wearing pyjama-style separates with a plain top or trousers or a jumpsuit that prevents the outfit from becoming too baggy. Whatever you do though, wear heels. A pair of patent nude courts or sandals (as worn at Stella McCartney) will automatically make this look much dressier.

The new silhouette for Spring/ Summer 2012 is, allegedly, the peplum. Jason Wu was flying the flag for peplums at his S/S 12 show with the shape being featured on tops, skirts and dresses. I’ve personally never been a fan of adding extra volume to my waist and hips but the theory is that peplums create or enhance an hourglass shape.
High street shops have already started stocking a range of separates and dresses featuring the peplum which means experimenting with this shape won’t break the bank.
