Damien Hirst has unveiled his latest artworks entitled “O’Clock: time design, design time” as part of a collaboration with Italian watch giants Panerai.

The two pieces, which are on display inside the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, Italy, use over 1000 of the luxury watches.  Time is indeed money, as they say.

Our trip to Milan during Fashion Week would not be complete without some top notch food and drinks.

We visited Nottingham Forest – a cocktail bar that does for alcohol what perhaps Ferran Adrià or Heston Blumenthal has done for food.  i.e. taking the Frankenstein approach of deconstructing a classic; getting the test tubes out and rebuilding an interactive drink that is unlike anything we’d ever seen before.  Sounds strange?  Check out the image of our two drinks, firstly the Archimedes Dry – the red glass contains the mixer element of the drink where the blue ‘upside down’ bottle contains the alcohol, giving you control over potency.  Confusing? Not compared to the drink on the right, the Umami Martini, working on the Japanese principle of ‘umami’ being the fifth ‘taste’. A ‘savouriness’ if you like. With oriental rice vodka, bitters, pink peppercorns and olive oil it stuck around longer than any other Martini we’d ever had.  Most of all, Nottingham Forest was fun – but be prepared to wait for a seat…

We visited Milan during fashion week last month. Although the city may not currently hold the official title of ‘fashion capital of the world’ it certainly oozes chic sophistication.

There was plenty of glamour to behold, not least of all on the street where it’s difficult to separate the model-esque Milanese from the international glitterati. We watched the paparazzi in action at the Dolce & Gabbana after show party at Gold Bar, got caught up amongst the photographers outside a fashion show held next to the Duomo (where a Michael Kors ad adorns the cathedral) and gazed at Anna Dello Russo sashaying round the Quadrilatero d’Oro (golden rectangle) in a £15,000 Dolce and Gabbana sequined dress (and some fruity headwear).
